Pat Ford’s ROMANESC bends melody through crooked forms to create modern pop songs that are lush and quietly cracked. Guitar surges in waves of fingerstyle shimmer and restless strumming warped by modal voicings and basement-punk drift. Lyrics trace the edges of nature and wring hope (and mope) from the prevailing unease.

A co-founder of Colossal (cult-beloved early-00s Chicago melodic post-rock), Ford also collaborates with members of Pretend in the band Pure Blue. He’s a pioneer of the genre “Jacuzzi crust”—a half-joke lifted from a John Fahey jab at mild-mannered music. He now lives in the outer Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.
